From training expeditions on the Purbeck Hills or Cranbourne Chase and qualifying expeditions in the New Forest we have immediate access to some fantastic silver expedition territory with opportunities to walk in solitude and to start to experience wild campsites.
A typical silver walking package consists of eight days of activity. Initially there will be two days of skills training, the first day will be spent learning how to navigate, first aid, camp craft and conservation awareness. The second day will be spent walking with an instructor applying those new skills and role playing emergency scenarios.
These two days will be followed by a practice expedition over three days and will require two nights of camping. Teams will work closely with an instructor on the first day but will move to more remote supervision on the second and third day.
There will then be a final, qualifying expedition. This will also take place over three days and the team will be remotely supervised by experienced instructors throughout.
